Feedback for PBS TV performance: Good show on TV this evening, the dancer was stunning!
The ensemble’s beautiful dancer Maya Karasso highlighted the evening with occasional dances in her very personal, unique style that blends traditions from around the Middle East and Far East. Maya, herself, is a beautiful vessel of light…a class with her is like an initiation. From her teaching it is obvious that this dance is a spiritual practice for her and that she delights in sharing it. Seeing her perform in the concert only confirmed that for me. written by Sara Draper - choreographer, director of Dance Path company
I attended your concert this afternoon at Seattle University This afternoon was an experience I will never forget! With love and gratitude, Elaine Russell
The music tonight was wonderful and the two women who came out of the audience and danced were unbelievable. Made me proud to be a woman. People sang, recited poems and a bunch of us just spoke from the audience about what the music and evening meant to us. One man said: “I didn't know what to expect here tonight; I think this is the most peaceful place in the universe right now.” Maya danced and you couldn't tell if she was dancing to the music or if the music was following her lead; they were one. Another woman also danced and was incredible. A sign of Maya's grace was that at the end she invited the other female dancer to join her on the stage and they together danced the last instrumental. People were simply awestruck. Thank you for the gift of meeting these wonderful artists and having the chance to know them a little. I think I've come back to life.
